A Gathering in Apple Valley - District Assembly: When several hundred proud Rotarians gather together, you know you will always feel powerful excitement in the room. Exactly this happened on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the District 5300 Assembly Training. Thanks especially go out to the Granite Hills High School in Apple Valley, CA for hosting this one-day conference. Rotarians from all over District 5300 attended these training sessions including Las Vegas WON Rotary members Randy Pote (Past district governor 2016-17), Richard Reed (club president, 2016), Nathan Atkins (club president, 2016–2017), and Woody Goulart. Las Vegas-based executive coach and corporate trainer Tim Schneider provided inspiring words of wisdom to start the day. District Governor Elect John Chase hosted several sessions brimming with down-to-earth strategies and tactics for successful management of the district’s 65 Rotary clubs with approximately 2,300 members.
Next Social is Tuesday, May 1 at Lavo, inside the Palazzo Casino from 5:30-8p. Free self parking. Las Vegas WON Rotary knows how to host a social event for a very good time! Previous socials included a classic rock-and-roll music show at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas. On Tuesday, May 1, starting at 5:30 pm, our club will host a social at Lavo at 3325 South Las Vegas Boulevard inside the Palazzo Casino. Lavo is an awe-inspiring Italian restaurant by day which is renowned as a “must-go” for Las Vegas locals and visitors alike. By night, Lavo transforms into one of the sexiest lounges you will find on the Strip. This Las Vegas WON Rotary club social perfect time to stop by after your work day is done. Meet and have fun with members of Las Vegas WON Rotary club in an unforgettable setting where you can relax and just be you.

On May 11, 2018 we have scheduled Raymond Hess. He is Director of Planning Services for Rapid Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. RTC is the regional entity that oversees public transportation, traffic management, roadway design and construction funding, transportation planning and regional planning efforts known as Southern Nevada Strong. Raymond will offer insights into how the RTC identifies transportation challenges and explores and implements both short and long-term resolutions while simultaneously promoting sustainability, air quality improvement, enhanced mobility and increased quality of life in the region.
On June 8, 2018, our guest speaker will be Erik Eisenberg. He is Vice President of Ticket Sales at Las Vegas 51s baseball team—the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Mets. Erik will highlight behind-the-scenes strategies and tactics that produced many great players. From Jacob deGrom to Noah Syndergaard to Amed Rosario, the 2015 Mets playoff roster had 12 of the 25 players play in Las Vegas. The team, popular with locals, plays in downtown Las Vegas at Cashman Field.
